There is an element of Faith that has to do with being able to see from afar. Today, we will be looking into how the two relate.

“These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.” Hebrews 11:13 NKJV

Bible Faith has some Laws that governs it. We have the Law of Speech which we discussed last week on Power Thursday and the Law of SIGHT.

God created Human beings as sensual beings. That means that we have senses through which we relate to our world. Scientists have discovered Five of those senses. And these are;

Touch, Sight, Hearing, Smell, and Taste. In fact, there is even a sixth one called the sense of space. Well I’m not doing a study on senses so I won’t go into them.

Amongst all these senses, the sense of sight is the one that attracts the most attention. What you see really has a lot of importance because it affects your mind and hence your behavior or attitude. It is also the one that the devil targets the most. So Jesus rightly said in Matthew 6:23

“But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” Matthew 6:23 NKJV

If your eye is bad; in other words if you only see bad things, your whole body will be full of darkness. Now remember that darkness represents demonic activity. It’s a product of the Kingdom of darkness.

As much as the devil is after your eye, God is also after your eyes especially in having faith.

So the Law of Sight states that whatever you can see, you can have. Interesting right, yeah! It’s a proven fact. A man called Jacob applied it in His Uncle’s house. You can check reference of that in Genesis 30:25-41. The summary of this story is that Jacob put some rods before some sheep, and as long as the sheep would look at those rods, they would give birth to spotted sheep.

In our walk with God, we must first and foremost learn to see Him with the eyes of the Spirit. That’s the only way we can relate with Him. We must also learn to see His promises, again with the eyes of faith. If we can see it, we can surely have it. I pray that your eyes will not be dark nor have short sightedness.

Quote of the week

”That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.”
