“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls,”

Matthew 13:45 NKJV

Jesus who happens to be the greatest teacher of all, gave a parable concerning how a man began a journey to seek a precious pearl. We are not told the value of the pearl, but we can be sure that it was enough to cost the man everything. The man against opposition, weariness, and comfort decided that there was something more than what life was offering Him. He understood the fundamental principle of life that it will never give you what you want. For many of us, we are hoping for financial breakthrough, academic breakthrough, marriage breakthrough and many more. Unfortunately, these things are not scattered on the earth. They are things we buy. Don’t get me wrong, the fact that we buy doesn’t mean we buy with money. In fact, for the most important things in life, we don’t buy with money. Billionaires get sick even unto death but their money is not able to save them.

In this parable Jesus gave, there are some few notes on it worth studying and applying. THE LEGEND IS TRUE for every human being on the face of the earth. We are all searching for something. Unfortunately for most of us, we do this without purpose because we don’t know exactly what we are looking for.  This merchant who figuratively represents us was looking for one thing. It is true that in life you don’t need a lot of things; you just need the relevant things. I always make this example: If you need any favor in your country, you can decide to get to know all the prominent people on the earth or you can simply get to know the president and be in his favor. There are a lot of things we need on the earth but ONE THING MATTERS, and ONE THING is NEEDFUL. Have you identified that one thing? I will leave you to answer that.

For all that the merchant was doing on earth, that couldn’t bring the Pearl to him. He had to become a seeker. Again, THE LEGEND IS TRUE. We are the merchants and we must seek. If you wish to ever answer the question above correctly, then I have an information that would help you: YOU MUST PURPOSE TO BE A SEEKER. The good of the land is always sought for. You won’t find gold on the surface of the earth. Because it’s precious, you have to become a seeker and seek it out. Whenever you find a pearl, learn how to sell what you have to buy it. Most people who are married don’t understand how to sell to buy. We carry ourselves into marriages without losing anything and therefore pay a great price for that. But for that thing which is the most important thing of all, it will require seeking and more than seeking.

I pray today as we end this series that you spend and be spent. Let the seeker in you arise for that PEARL of GREAT PRICE.

The end…

Quote of the week

”That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.”
