The beauty and fun in a pursuit is the process of the pursuit. There is in the heart of every woman the desire to be pursued and there is the heart of every man the desire to pursue. And in the hearts of both, there is a deep cry for intimacy. A place where no one else knows you but that one person. A place to share with the most significant lover in their lives. This desire is deep inside the heart of every individual. The process into that tender spot is beautiful. Join me and let’s take a walk into the King’s chamber.
Your access to any place is by invitation. What we call a public place is one which has an open invitation. All are welcome to visit and spend time. But there are also places which are not easily accessible without a specific invitation. There are ceremonies that are open to all and there are some that are not. Your access is by invitation and the depth of your access is determined by your invitation. Have you ever been invited to a wedding ceremony which you attended only to find out about a reception dinner that is explicitly declared to be ‘strictly by invitation’? Meaning that though you had access to the ceremony, you did not have access to the dinner.

An important characteristic of an invitation is that you have the choice to accept the invitation or to decline it. Throughout scripture, we find numerous places where the Godhead invitesus to a place of intimacy. From Genesis to Revelation, we find invitation after invitation to access deep places where we have not known.
COME!
“On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.” John 7:37 NKJV
Jesus attends a national feast where the place is fully packed with crowds. He stands and shouts at the top of his voice an invitation to all the people to come to Him. He invites them to a level that they have not experienced before. He shouts this invitation to both friends and enemies, believers and non-believers. It is a general invitation to whoever may listen. This is the invitation we believers accepted. It Is this invitation that brings us into salvation. But, apart from this invitation, is another invitation to higher realms.

“After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”” Revelation 4:1
John the Revelator, the apostle whom Jesus loved, has been in a place of divine fellowship and revelation. In the first chapters of the book of Revelations, he experiences deep encounters which would mark His life forever. He sees the resurrected Jesus, fully in His glory. So magnificent and awesome that John falls on his face flat – overwhelmed. Yet in the chapter 4, he receives an invitation to come further.
“Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne.” Revelation 4:2 NKJV
John must have accepted the invitation. He immediately found himself in a place He had never been. He saw the great Monarch of the universe seated on His throne. Four more times in the book of Revelations, John was invited deeper to access ancient secrets long hidden. The depths of God are unsearchable. After all John had experienced, the invitations still came for him to know more of God.

IDENTIFYING THE INVITATION
A divine invitation is not as easy to recognize as a physical one. For many of us, it does not come as obvious as Jesus standing in front of you and shouting. This is because we live in a physical realm with an invitation into the spiritual realm. Therefore, what may be a shout in the spirit would be a whisper in your heart, a churning of your stomach or a beckoning that you cannot understand. Many times, we feel a burning sensation in our hearts as we hear the Word being preached or a song that moves your heart. This is an invitation being written on your heart. It may come as a desire to spend time in prayer. It may come in other unprecedented ways but because of its subtle nature we may overlook it. It is important that we learn to identify these signals of the spirit. If you cannot identify an invitation you have no chance of accepting it. Whenever we find ourselves in a place of want, of thirst or dissatisfaction, recognize it as the shout of the Spirit of God calling to you, “Come up here”. Many of us have stayed stagnant in our christian growth for too long. It is time to move! Come up here from your wallowing. Come up here from your depressive state. Come up here into the secrets of the Almighty.
